It’s metal now
Since Phone (2a) Plus, metal has become an increasingly important part of our design language. With an aircraft-grade aluminium unibody, Phone (4a) Pro fully embraces this material in new Black, Silver and Pink finishes. It’s also our slimmest phone – and at 7.95 mm, it’s the thinnest full-metal phone on the market today.
Stay cool
Paired with our largest (5,300 mm 2) VC cooling system yet, the metal body on Phone (4a) Pro keeps temperatures balanced under heavy loads.
Clearly familiar
The camera bump on Phone (4a) Pro is clear, with 3D-contoured plastic that’s twice as scratch resistant as the back of Phone (2a). Made with nano-level injection moulding, its shape complements the design of our Headphone (1).
Built to last
Phone (4a) Pro is 42 % more bend-resistant than Phone (3a) Pro. Plus, the upgraded Gorilla Glass 7i means the display has better protection against scrapes and drops.
It’s also IP65-rated against dust and water – up from IP64 on the previous model. And we’ve made sure it’s equipped to handle full submersion in up to 25 cm of water for up to 20 minutes.
Face down
The Glyph Matrix
We brought the Glyph Matrix over from our flagship Phone (3). On Phone (4a) Pro, it’s 57% larger. And at up to 3,000 nits, its 137 mini-LEDs are twice as bright
Glyph Tools
The Glyph Matrix lets you stay connected to key information with Glyph Tools. Always-on Glyph Tools include a digital clock, a timer, a battery indicator and more. You can also use Playground to find and download custom tools created by the Nothing Community.
Essential Notifications
With Essential Notifications, the Glyph Matrix shows you custom symbols for contacts. A heart could let you know your wife is calling – no need to look at your screen.
3 Camera System
Sony main camera
The main camera on Phone (4a) Pro is a 50 MP Sony LYT- 700C sensor, backed by OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). This large 1/1.56” sensor is roughly 24 % bigger. It can take in up to 64 % more light than typical 1/1.95” sensors in similar devices – meaning cleaner, clearer images. The Sony main camera also allows for autofocus that is 20% faster than the Samsung sensor on Phone (4a).
See in the dark
When you take Night Mode shots on Phone (4a) Pro, 7 frames get merged into one, capturing up to 500 % more light than rival cameras. Backed by AI-powered noise reduction, Night Mode image processing uses less power and is up to a second quicker than Phone (4a).
Folding light
One of the biggest upgrades to Phone (4a) Pro is the new tetraprism periscopic telephoto lens. Using a dual prism construction, it lets you see further with optical zoom. Plus, it uses less battery and 32% less space than the L-shaped 3x telephoto on Phone (3a) Pro. This means we could fit the same 1/2.75” Samsung JN5 sensor as Phone (3) – also supported by OIS.
TrueLens Engine 4
TrueLens Engine 4 uses the latest AI algorithms, tone mapping and semantic segmentation to capture true-to-life shots. It understands what’s going on in every image, and automatically tunes details like highlights and shadows.
Zooooom
With Phone (4a) Pro, you can capture 2x lossless in-sensor zoom, 3.5x optical zoom, 7x lossless zoom and – thanks to an advanced triple 12-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP) – up to 140x ultra zoom. The 3.5x optical zoom is equivalent to an 80 mm focal length – perfect for portraits.
Action Mode
Phone (4a) Pro’s increased performance means you get the same rapid shutter as Phone (3) – it’s designed for shooting fast-moving subjects like kids or pets. Action Mode is now built directly into the camera, so you can shoot up to 30 Ultra XDR shots in a row.
Ultra XDR
Co-developed with Google, Ultra XDR blends Android’s native HDR processing with our custom tuning. It captures 13 RAW frames at different exposures, then combines them to create next-level tonal depth and dynamic range. Ultra XDR images can be shared with supported apps like Google Photos and Instagram.
Motion Photos
Ultra XDR Motion Photos capture up to 3 seconds/90 frames of motion in a single shot, with accurate colour, sound recording and highlight information.
Captured in 4K
Powered by Qualcomm’s triple Image Signal Processor (ISP), Phone (4a) Pro captures smooth 4K video at 30 frames per second (fps). Footage compares to top-tier standards like Dolby Vision.
We’ve also achieved richer highlights and deeper
shadows with a combination of OIS, EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation) and AI anti-shake technology.
Want to slow things down?
Phone (4a) Pro lets you shoot 120 fps slow-motion video in Full HD.
New presets?
Phone (4a) Pro introduces 7 new editing options, including contrast, warmth and vignette. You can also create your own photographic styles or import ones designed by the Nothing Community on Playground. We’ve also added built-in presets.
Display
Larger
Phone (4a) Pro has our best display ever. The bigger 6.83-inch AMOLED panel features a 1.5 K resolution – up from 6.77 inches and Full HD on the Phone (3a) series. Plus, Phone (4a) Pro also features a rounder display with thinner bezels and a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio.
Faster
A boosted dynamic refresh rate of up to 144 Hz gives you smoother motion. The improved touch response rate of up to 2,500 Hz also means taps and swipes are more than twice as fast as Phone (3a) Pro. The number of games tailored to support Phone (4a) Pro’s refresh rate is constantly growing.
Eye-watering bright
A new 5,000 nit peak brightness means the screen on Phone (4a) Pro is our brightest. It’s up to 66 % brighter than the Phone (3a) series. And HDR-compatible content looks great against the true blacks of the AMOLED display. Increased outdoor brightness is also perfect for sunny days, with the screen now able to reach 1600 nits.
Plus, Phone (4a) Pro uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), dimming at up to 2,160 Hz, so that it’s easier on your eyes in low brightness.
Performance
Qualcomm’s most capable chipset Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is the most capable chip in the series – and it powers Phone (4a) Pro. Backed by a custom CPU scheduler and Nothing OS optimisations, it delivers 27 % greater CPU, 30 % better GPU and 65 % faster AI performance compared to Phone (3a).
New UFS 3.1 storage allows for 147 % faster read and 380 % faster write speeds. Phone (4a) Pro also features flagship-class LPDDR5X RAM, with read and write speeds twice as fast as the memory inside the Phone (3a) series. It also delivers 30 % great power efficiency.
Stable Diffusion 1.5
Phone (4a) Pro is the first of the (a) series to run Stable Diffusion 1.5 for real-time image generation. Gamers will appreciate our Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0, which delivers 120 fps gameplay in titles like Battlegrounds Mobile India, and up to 90 fps in Call of Duty: Mobile.
