Important Warranty Information

 

If you purchased an item from Dick Smith prior to 3 May 2016, it is important to note that the business with which you transacted is different to the business trading under Dick Smith from 4 May 2016 onward.

Dick Smith, Move and Move Airport stores went into receivership then ceased trading through both physical stores, and online channels on or before 3 May 2016. In light of this, the Receivers have established a hotline for customers that have a fault or problem with products purchased between 5 January 2016 and 3 May 2016.

Faulty Stock – Purchased AFTER 3rd May 2016

If you have purchased an item from the Dick Smith online store after 3rd May 2016 and require assistance with a fault, please contact the Dick Smith Support Team at https://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dn/help/

Faulty Stock – Purchased between 5 January 2016 and 3 May 2016

For all enquiries until close of business Friday 13 May 2016, the Receivers request that you contact them on:

  • 0800 373 347 enquiries and tech support; and

From 16 May 2016, the Receivers request that you contact them as detailed below:

a) Non Dick Smith Branded Items

The Receivers recommend that you contact the manufacturer directly in the first instance. If the manufacturer does not provide you with a remedy or you are having difficulty, the Receivers request that you please contact their warranty hotline via email at customers@dsreceivers.com.au

b) Dick Smith Branded Items

For Dick Smith branded products, the Receivers request that you please contact their warranty hotline via email at customers@dsreceivers.com.au

c) Cashback Promise

The Receivers request that you contact their warranty hotline via email at customers@dsreceivers.com.au. You will need your receipt to demonstrate proof of purchase.

d) Ongoing assistance

A customer hotline is available post the closure of the Dick Smith, Move and Move Airport stores, for a period of 12 months.

The customer hotline will assist customers with:

  • The claim process for faulty products bought between 5 January 2016 and 3 May 2016; and
  • General enquiries following the closure of the store network.
  • Customer Hotline for products purchased between 5 January 2016 and 3 May 2016
  • Email: customers@dsreceivers.com.au

The Receivers recommend that you contact the manufacturer directly. If the manufacturer does not provide you with a remedy, you are an unsecured creditor of DSE (NZ) Ltd. Please contact the Voluntary Administrators, McGrath Nicol to lodge your claim with them:

Please note that you may have claims under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1986 against the manufacturer or importer of your product.

b) Dick Smith Branded Items

For Dick Smith branded products, you are an unsecured creditor in respect of any claim you may have against DSE (NZ) Ltd. Please contact the Voluntary Administrators, McGrath Nicol to lodge your claim with them:
