1. Pre-warm the cafetiere by rinsing with boiling water.
2. Using quality coarse coffee grounds, pour two level tablespoons per cup into the cafetiere.
3. Pour clean fresh water just off the boil into the cafetiere. (For optimum results never use re-boiled or stale water).
4. Stir coffee lightly with a non-metal utensil, then place the lid on the cafetiere with the plunger withdrawn.
5. Leave to brew for 4 minutes. This important pause allows time for the grounds to release the essential oils and essences which produce the full-flavored, aromatic delights inherent in fine coffee.
6. Finally, gently depress the plunger until the knob contacts the lid.
7. Serve within 20 minutes.
8. To clean, separate the plunger assembly from the cafetiere.
9. Clean the plunger assembly with warm water and washing-up liquid. A washing-up brush may be helpful in removing coffee residue from the mesh filter.
10. Clean the pot with a mild detergent, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
11. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scourers when hand washing.
12. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
13. Dishwasher safe.
