Sturdy thick metal frame, the veneer on the shelves is good quality and looks better in person than the photos. It stands very well even on carpet and was pretty easy to put together and all the pre-cut screw holes etc lined up well, which doesn't always happen with flat pack furniture. Great value for the money."
