The player steps into the role of a street brawler forced into direct hand-to-hand combat against gangs and hostile groups across a rough urban setting. Instead of focusing on weapons or ranged attacks, Renegade is built around punches, kicks, grabs, and close-quarters pressure, giving the game a more aggressive beat ‘em up style where positioning and timing matter from the start.

In Renegade for the Sega Master System, you fight through four missions made up of multiple sections, taking on groups of enemies and pushing deeper into each area until the route is cleared.
