About Casio
Amongst Casio’s most notable achievements is the first shock-proof watch. The Casio G-Shock premiered in 1983, designed by a Casio engineer named Kikuo Ibe who strove to “create a watch that never breaks.” The Casio development team set out to produce a watch that would endure a ten meter free-fall, with ten bar water resistance, and a ten year battery life. With the creation of a hollow-structure case that encloses the module and glass components of the watch on all sides, the G-Shock met these requirements. The case design itself prevents any direct contact with flat surfaces against the glass and buttons. A scratch resistant, urethane band acts as an additional shock absorber. The G-Shock is updated twice annually, in addition to limited release editions that are sold periodically throughout the year, several of which become highly desirable collector’s items.
Stainless steel case, Rubber strap, Black dial, Quartz movement scratch resistant mineral, Water resistant up to 5 ATM – 50 meters – 165 feet
